Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September 2021, 12 noon – 4pm.
Come and find out more about St Mary’s Church history as part of Milton Keynes Heritage Open Days
At the St Mary’s Church Heritage Weekend you will discover the extensive history of the church building, as well as the people and the community of faith that has been on this site for a thousand years.
You will be able to explore the renewed Churchyard that respects the natural ecology of its surroundings and honours the Commonwealth War Graves that you can find there.
There will be opportunities to pause and reflect in our quiet spaces, as well as information on the ‘Quiet Garden Movement’ which St Mary’s is a part of (see below).
Come and learn about beekeeping in the past and today, and enjoy local home made cakes and refreshments.
Contact Mike Wittle at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information on St Mary’s Heritage Weekend.
QUIET GARDEN PRAYER TRAIL
As part of St. Mary’s Heritage Weekend on the 18th and 19th of September, from 2pm to 4pm, we will, in conjunction with the Quiet Gardens Trust, be curating a prayer trail.
After enjoying the heritage day (and cake) in the church, you may like to spend some time outside. Come and prayerfully follow the trail or just “take a pew in the cathedral of the great outdoors” (Brian Draper).
We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
