Vigil for Ukraine – Saturday 12th March
There will be a Vigil for Ukraine on Saturday evening, 12th March, 6pm at the MK Rose in Campbell Park.
It will last half an hour and the Mayor will be present.
It will be an opportunity to show our concerns for those involved. All welcome.
One of our local Methodist Ministers, Rev Nicola Vidamour, was recently interviewed on Three Counties Radio about Ukraine and Russia. Nicola served as a Methodist Mission Partner in Russia from 2003 – 2009 and visited Ukraine in 2018.
You can hear Nicola about 15 mins after the start of the programme. Here is the link:
The interview will be available until the end of March.
And the prayer Nicola talks about in the interview can be found here.
Methodist Emergency Appeal for Ukraine
Rev Nicola is in contact with her colleagues in Ukraine. Oleg, the Methodist Superintendent in Kyiv, has set up a base in two Methodist churches in western Ukraine to help other refugees.
You can read his most recent message in the link below:
The above link also gives details of one way to donate to support the response to the crisis happening in Ukraine, and ensure that critical humanitarian assistance is available to those who need it. All We Can and the Methodist Church in Britain have launched an emergency appeal in response to the unfolding events.
Please pray for the people of Ukraine.
