Milton Keynes Salvation Army: Christmas Present Appeal. They write: “It’s that time of the year again where we have the immense privilege of helping families here in MK who would otherwise struggle this Christmas. We take referrals from social services, health visitors, children/family centres and schools so that we can provide gifts for children that might go without. Every year we depend upon the generous giving of individuals, groups, churches and businesses who help us achieve our goal. Please if you are able to donate a new, unwrapped gift for a child ages 0-16yrs and drop off at our Salvation Army building, Ramsons Avenue, Conniburrow, MK14 7BA. Our opening times are Mondays & Wednesdays 10am-1pm or Thursday morning. If these times are inconvenient or you have queries please contact us on 01908 606916 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Our deadline is 6th December.”
MK Act Charity: They write: “Christmas is the most feared time of the whole year for victims of domestic abuse. Domestic violence rises significantly during the festive period. Not a year goes by when we don’t see a seasonal spike in incidents reported to the police. This Christmas we would love your help to raise money to buy supermarket vouchers for the families we support, both at our refuge and in the community, so that parents can pick presents for their children and also buy festive treats to make their special meal. To donate online via their Christmas Voucher Appeal, please visit: https://localgiving.org/appeal/mkactxmas
MK Food Bank: Reverse Advent Christmas Appeal 2021. All the details are on their website here. Buy a box from their warehouse (or use your own). Fill it with essential items and Christmassy treats throughout November . Deliver it to them by 3rd December. They’ll pool donations, distribute Christmas food parcels and stock their shelves for January
St Marks Meals: The St Mark’s Meals Gift Shop is OPEN. How about buying a meal for a struggling family as an alternative gift for friends and family? You buy the meal and they send you a card so that you can explain what their gift this year is. https://stmarksmk.com/gifts/ The St Mark’s Meals Gift Shop is open until THURSDAY 16th DECEMBER.
Above is the St Mark’s Meals Count Down to Christmas! They write: “Food donations can be dropped off at the Foodbank labelled ST MARK’S MEALS and they will come straight to us to be used for the recipe boxes we send to local schools. THANK YOU and good luck, see if you can tick off every item. If you’d like a copy of this list emailed or sent to you, please get in touch at email@example.com.“
The Hygiene Bank Milton Keynes: It’s in the Bag appeal. Choose a bag you no longer use that is in good condition, you may also make or buy your bags. Decide who the bag is for (e.g. male, female, unisex, family, child, baby). Fill it up with toiletries – beauty, grooming, household and hygiene essentials (new, unused and in-date); everyday items such as deodorant, shampoo, period products and shaving gear. Add a little luxury treat such as makeup, fragrance or skincare. Take the filled bag (or bags!) to one of the following drop-off points – Woughton Community Council Hub, Coffee Hall, MK6 5EG | Hedgerows Family Centre, Netherfield, MK6 4NP | Pebbles Children’s Centre, Fishermead, MK6 2LP | Just Tyres, Old Stratford, MK19 6AG | Daisychain Family Centre, West Bletchley, MK3 6PS
YMCA Milton Keynes: Give the gift of music this year! We’ve all got our favourite Christmas song so this year their Christmas Appeal is all about music. Many of their residents are passionate about music, and following two successful Open Mic Nights have asked for some equipment on campus so they can make and produce their own tracks. You can help make this dream a reality by supporting their Christmas Appeal. Donate here.
